#Castle S05E16 – Hunt
Castle’s efforts on the case suddenly put his own life in danger.
Continuing from last week with the Alexis kidnapping story, this episode sees Castle going off alone into France in order to find his daughter. It seems like he’s going all Liam Neeson in ‘Taken’ but we know that he cant be like that, so he does what we assume he would do, being a former spy novel writer, and getting some hired help. Which he gets, only to be double crossed and saved, by his father.
The rest of the episode plays out as a Castle-Centric episode, with us finding out more about Castle’s father, a spy whose enemy wanted to draw him out, and the only way to do it was to kidnap his granddaughter. The scenes between father/son are great, with just enough being said and done to satisfy both us as an audience, and Castle as a character. His father has been mentioned here and there, and its cool that after 5 seasons, we get to meet him, and maybe wonder about whether the spy business is hereditary. I like that Castles father is a nice guy, it makes a nice change from the Beckett storyline
